A Will To Stay

A playful venture
A silly notion
Mocking and attacking
With words meant to cringe at
Led to a deep dark cave
Of red lights and echoing screams.

What i see there
You have not thought about.
As he guts her hair
And thrashes her around,
A white clipboard
Promises sanctuary
From a rite unknown,
A denial, unacceptable
Never really free to roam
Circles within circles.

An impression of my hand
A nod of my head,
Her gleam of satisfaction
Escapes my eye
But seals a space for me
As i stare at her eyes,
With an air of triumph
And ill will
She asks me
So what will you do?
